Anne Bishop is a Gainesville, Georgia, attorney dedicated to her clients and their legal needs.

A graduate of the University of Georgia Law School, Anne handles a number of different legal areas. She has diligently worked with her clients in cases in a variety of areas.  Currently, her practice focus involves  probate court proceedings of all types including guardianships, conservatorships, estate administrations and estate planning, traffic citations, local government law, civil proceedings and family violence protection orders.  She has obtained experience in both civil and criminal litigation, bankruptcy, domestic relations, D.U.I. cases, workers’ compensation and other areas of the law during her career.

Anne has served previously as a Law Clerk to the Dougherty County Superior Court, an Assistant District Attorney for the Northeastern Judicial Circuit, an Assistant County Attorney for Hall County, Georgia, an Administrative Hearing Officer for the Georgia Department of Labor, adjunct professor for the University of North Georgia, Assistant Solicitor and Solicitor for the City of Gainesville, Georgia.  She has also served as a Guardian Ad Litem in several key cases in various areas of our court system,.  Each of these previous roles now help Anne in providing various perspectives on cases to assist her clients better.

Anne uses her extensive knowledge of Georgia Law in the areas she practices as it applies to litigating her client’s case. Whether through trial, settlement or mediation, she has dealt with important issues from accident reports, police reports, ALS hearings, a variety of Will clauses and Trust provisions, Powers of Attorney, Powers of a Guardian and Conservator, Protective Orders, Child Support, Child Custody,  plea negotiation, mediation, trial or settlement.  Anne’s skills in teaching have led her to educating many paralegal students in Computers for the Legal Profession, Advanced Research and Writing and Legal Aspects of Business.   Anne takes pride in providing a real world and street level view of the practice of law in Hall County, which has helped in her education of others, her advocacy for her clients and her abilities to achieve the best result for her clients.

Anne lectures regularly on various areas of the law.  She teaches for the Carl Vinson Institute of Government on an annual basis to assist Code Enforcement Officer across the State of Georgia in learning the legal aspects of their job.  She has made multiple presentations on local government law and environmental enforcement during her career including lectures for the  Environmental Protection Division of the State of Georgia.  Anne chaired the Nuts and Bolts of Criminal Law seminar previously for the Georgia Institute of Continuing Legal Education and presented on the topic of The Inherent Powers of the Court to the  Georgia Council of Superior Court Clerks.

Anne takes special interest in her community, and as a resident of Hall County she believes in causes that help enrich the citizens of Northeast Georgia.  Anne is an active supporter of Georgia Mountain Food Bank, Gateway Domestic Violence Center, the Boys and Girls Club, Hall County Humane Society and the United Way. She is very active in her church and held many leadership and volunteer roles there.  Anne has served on the Board of Keep Hall Beautiful, City of Gainesville Georgia Initiative for Community House (GICH), City of Gainesville Park and Recreation Vision Committee, the State of Georgia Environmental Protection Division’s Local Government Environmental Task Force and the Board of My Sister’s Place.  Anne has been very active in the leadership of the State Bar of Georgia Younger Lawyer’s Section including receiving the Award of Merit, being a member of the Strategic Planning Task Force, the Ninth District Younger Lawyers Representative, Criminal Law Committee Chairman and Appointed Counsel Task Force.
